Seeking your input to develop a plan and identify priorities.

As Canada’s organic sector advances, a focused plan is needed to ensure that our future food systems include a strong foundation in organic.

This is why COTA, the Canadian Organic Growers and the Organic Federation of Canada are developing an Organic Action Plan (OAP) for Canada –  but we need your help!

This comprehensive plan will recognize the important role that organic plays in the future of sustainable agriculture in Canada, just like successful initiatives in the United States and the European Union. It will serve as a framework to be used as an advocacy tool in discussions with the government to create a partnership that will support the long-term development and expansion of the organic sector.

What’s inside the Organic Action Plan?

The OAP isn't just a list of ideas. It’s a comprehensive plan that addresses the whole sector, with something in it for all members of the organic value chain.

It proposes ambitious national targets, supports for transitioning to organic practices, investments in research, market insights, and collaboration with key agencies like Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Your voice matters.

Your input is vital in making the OAP a reality. Your thoughts will help shape the framework that guides this transformative plan.

Please send questions about the OAP or the survey to mbosch@canada-organic.ca.
